MBCL - Curriculum-based Monitoring in Reading: A longitudinal study of students at risk


This project aims to monitor how first year of schooling children, in the 2017/2018 school year, in Bragança-Portugal, learn.

Its objectives are:

i) to know the level of achievement of the children at the end of pre-school education regarding the identification of sound and the name of the letters;

ii) to know the level of achievement of the same children in the fall, winter and spring of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of schooling, regarding fluency and reading comprehension;

iii) to identify pupils at risk in reading;

iv) to identify risk factors in reading. The results will have a social impact insofar as they will allow to know learning trajectories of the reading in the population and the students at risk.
